Scary Halloween Movies

Horror is one of the most well liked of film genres each day of the year, but it does seem to come into its own around Halloween.  Halloween has been the setting for some of the greatest horror films ever.  But Halloween is more than just frightful pictures.  Here are three of my best-ever favorite Halloween movies.

For Horror : The 1978 film’Halloween’ seemed to start the slasher/horror genus picture.  In the movie, a masked murderer is stalking the teenagers of Hadenfield on Halloween.  He’s’s looking to finish something that was started many years back.

‘Halloween’ starred Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis.  It was directed by John Carpenter.  There have been several follow ups, but not one of them even came near to matching the pure apprehension of Halloween.  The critics are infrequently keen on horror movies, but they loved’Halloween,’ and it is still one of the greatest Halloween pictures in history.

For Comedy : All Halloween films are not of the terror genre as proven by the 1993 film’Hocus Pocus.’ This pleasant film stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker as 3 witch sisters who, after three hundred years, return to Salem, Massachusetts, where they were hanged for being witches, and wreck havoc in town. ‘Hocus Pocus’ is funny and lovable and makes all people who see it wish for more. ‘Hocus Pocus’ was directed by Kenny Ortega.

For Children [*CO]’It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!’ there’s never been a better picture made for children ( and the youthful-acting ) than this 1966 film.  The film stars the Peanuts characters, Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, and Snoopy ?all figments of the great cartoonist Charles M.  Schulz’s imagination.  Linus ( and his blanket ) are waiting in the pumpkin patch for the’GREAT PUMPKIN’ to appear while all his pals are out trick or treating.
