Halloween Costumes Inspired by Movies

With Halloween quickly approaching, you may notice yourself looking at the fantastic character wardrobes from some of your children’s favorite movies like Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Transformers to get ideas for their Halloween costumes. There are so many different Halloween costumes based on movies that you will have no trouble finding them, if you plan ahead. Keep in mind that you’ll want to pick up the more popular costumes early, as they tend to sell out the fastest.

Aside from Halloween retail shops, there are multitudes of websites specializing in getting you the costumes that you want at the prices you demand. Many of these sites also have adult themed costumes for sale, and so you could dress up with your kids. You might want to purchase a Harry Potter wand and robe for your child and buy yourself a Professor Dumbledore outfit so that you can trick or treat together. With so many styles to choose from, there are a great deal of possibilities out there just waiting.

And don’t forget the accessories - after all, a fairy princess just isn’t complete without her sparkling tiara, and Hans Solo wouldn’t be quite the hero he is if not for his trusty light saber. Many are relatively inexpensive, kids costuming can be found in many places for under $50, and adult styles under $100. And again, with Star Wars and Star Trek costumes, or from Speed Racer, Dragonball Z and Transformers costumes, you don’t have to worry about a poor selection.

It is also remember to keep your child safe on Halloween night. Be sure that your child is able to see out of eyes holes if he or she has a mask on, and if they can’t, cut the holes bigger. Or, you can simply opt to use make-up instead of a mask, which will eliminate any concern about sight or your child’s ability to breathe properly.

Also think about the fact that besides your children being able to see, drivers on the road need to be able to see them as well. For costumes that are black or darkly-colored, consider buying light-up or reflective accessories which will make your child more visible. Many stores have reflectors you can get and if you put them on the costume correctly, your child will be able to be seen. Make sure they all have a flashlight and are using it. If you do these simple things you will keep your kids safe and ensure that your Halloween is fun.
